Types of Armlifts

Laser Liposuction Armlift

An arm lift can sometimes be done by using laser liposuction. This avoids the long scar that is seen when you remove skin. Through a few tiny punctures, the fat is removed by liposuction. Then, the skin is lasered from the inside to help promote tightening. Recovery is only a matter of days as there is no incision to heal. Discomfort is minimal.

C Armlift  Crescent Armlift
Mini Scar Armlift

A mini scar also called a C, or crescent brachioplasty is done with a small incision that is only seen in the armpit. The amount of skin removal that can be accomplished is limited. Therefore, the result is often not as dramatic as a traditional arm lift, but the incision is not very visible, unless a person raises their arms over their head.

Full Arm Lift / Brachioplasty.

A full or traditional brachioplasty, removes the excess skin and fat. This can be a very dramatic change. However, when someone raises or extends their arms, there is usually a line that is visible where the skin was removed. This extends from the armpit down to near the elbow. The skin and fat is all removed, and the changes are usually very dramatic.

Extended Arm lift/ Brachioplasty

In an extended brachioplasty, the incision continues from the armpit down the side of the upper chest to remove fat and skin in that area.

Cost of
Arm Lift

The cost of an arm lift varies, and depends on numerous factors such as the extent of skin removal, anesthesia fees, and other hospital costs. Dr. Studin's team is committed to both transparent pricing and financing options, because Dr. Studin wants to make sure all of his patients have the opportunity to get the body they've been dreaming of.

Ideal candidates for an arm lift are individuals who are troubled by drooping triceps and skin laxity, unable to find relief through their fitness efforts. The goal is to ultimately achieve a toned and fit appearance, but realistic expectations are important. Dr. Studin can determine your suitability and discuss potential outcomes during your consultation.

Procedure

Anesthesia

Dr. Studin will provide you both local and a light general anesthesia.  If the area is numb before Dr. Studin starts, minimal anesthesia is necessary to stay asleep. You wake up feeling much better!

Incision

Incisions are made either as just puncture wounds if for liposuction and laser, or along the path that was previously marked the morning of surgery. You will have seen these markings and review them with Dr. Studin before going to the operating suite.

Closing the Incisions

After removal of the planned areas, the incisions are sutra with plastic surgery techniques, to minimize visible scarring later. The upper arms or then wrapped in a light dressing.

Recovery

After surgery, you will go home in a light elastic compression garment. This will help to decrease postoperative swelling, and actually makes most people feel better. You will be numb for many hours after the surgery, so pain is minimal when you wake up. If you follow the pain medicine routine that Dr. Studin gives you, you will have minimal discomfort at any time.

Frequently Asked Questions

An arm lift is a procedure that reshapes the upper arms by removing excess skin and fat, resulting in a much more toned appearance.

Typically, the arm lift procedure only takes about 1 to 1.5 hours to finish.

Recovery from an arm lift is generally very quick, with minimal pain and a gradual return to strenuous activities over the next few weeks following the procedure. Most people can go back to work in just a matter of a few days with liposuction arm lifts. After an open arm lift, it is usually about a week.

Yes it can. For patients with extra fat, SmartLipo can be a very effective complement to arm lift

Anesthesia for a brachioplasty is a combination of local and a light general, which is similar to the anesthesia used for a colonoscopy. After the surgery, patients wake up very quickly. Only a small amount of this anesthetic is necessary to keep the patient asleep, because they felt no pain during the surgery. The area was blocked with a long – acting Novocain as soon as the person went to sleep and before the surgery was started,  therefore, when the patient wakes up they feel much better than they might have.

Like with any surgical procedure, there are some risks. These include bleeding, infection, scarring, asymmetry, nerve damage, and skin loss, but Dr. Studin has performed thousands of similar surgeries, and takes comprehensive steps to minimize these risks.
