Botox, Xeomin, Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra & Voluma
While years ago, injectibles for looking younger were Botox, Juvéderm or Restylane, now, designer fillers can be tailored for much more impressive results. The knowledge and experience of your injector is hugely important, both in choosing the product and placing it properly. There are several different choices for each situation, and these should be discussed. Dr. Studin has been injecting for over 30 years, and in his practice, only he performs the injection. Experience counts!

Botox Cosmetic
Forehead, Crow's Feet and Glabellar Lines
The original toxin to smooth wrinkles, Botox Cosmetic has a long safety and effectiveness record. It not only treats wrinkles that have already formed, but also prevents new ones from appearing with age and frowning. It is usually done about every 4-5 months.
-
Dysport
Glabellar Frown Lines - Faster Onset
Dysport is Botulinum Toxin, just like Botox, but it gets through the skin more quickly. Primarily used for correcting glabellar lines, the frown lines between your eyebrows, it is designed to allow you to see the results faster than with Botox. The results also last about 4 months.
-
Xeomin
Forehead, Crow's Feet and Glabellar Lines
Also made of the same Botulinum Toxin, Xeomin is increasingly popular. The same number of units are injected for the same indications, but it is room-temperature stable and less prone to making antibodies, so it tends to stay at full-strength longer. You should discuss your choice of toxins for wrinkles with Dr. Studin. Decades of valuable experience will help you learn about when to choose different treatments.

Juvederm Ultra
Lip Enhancement
It is super- important to choose the right filler for lip enhancement. The right choice will achieve natural- looking results and make you look great. Youthful, attractive lips can be achieved by improving definition, improving fullness, or both. Juvederm Ultra is usually the best choice when someone wants fuller lips that still appear natural. If someone would like more defined lips that are softer with a little less fullness, Volbella is usually the best choice. You should discuss this with Dr. Studin.

Fillers Vs Toxins
Fillers like Juvederm and Restylane fill the wrinkles and folds immediately. Toxins like Botox Cosmetic and Dysport relax the muscles that make the wrinkles.
How long do fillers last?
Juvederm and Restylane last about a year but they are absorbing slowly along the way. Most patients will refill the correction every six to nine months. Radiesse lasts about 18 months, but also is decreasing along the way
Do I need allergy testing?
No allergy testing is done for fillers or toxins. Allergic reactions, which were a problem with the old collagen products, are not a common problem with the modern treatments.
Which filler or toxin should I pick?
See the section on each area to correct.
